WHY BOTSWANA?

The former Bechuanaland has been described as an "African miracle": this long-forgotten British protectorate long conquered its independence peacefully in 1966 and, since then, benefits from a democratic regime and an unparalleled sanitary, educational and social system in the African continent. The Republic of Botswana is dominated by the Kalahari desert, which covers almost 70% of the land area of the country. The Okavango Delta, located in the northwest of the country, is the second inland delta in the world in size, with an area of 18,000 km2. In the north of the country is the great saline, known as the Makgadikgadi Pan. The reputation of Botswana is due to its large desert, savanna and salt spaces, the beauty of its deserts, its welcoming villages, as well as the incredible wealth of the fauna, artistic traditions and natural attractions of the country.

SERVICES

We offer a large reserve with first class accommodation and services that allow both rest and activity in the countryside. We´ve got most of the native fauna of the area, with the sole exception of the greater fauna, considered dangerous, such as lions, elephants or hippos. This allows to move and explore without restrictions throughout the farm, both on foot or in quad or 4×4, something impossible in national parks, where mobility is severely limited.

EXCURSIONS

Botswana offers all kinds of ecosystems and different national parks to visit, from the humid and semitropical Chobe park, on the banks of the Zambeze River, to the Okavango Delta, or the largest salt flats in the wolrd, the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Located just 20 kms from Zimbabwe, Ngangane also offers privileged access to several of Zimbabwe's best destinations, Matopo Hills (sacred mountains of the Zulues Matabele), Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park.

The excursions are guided, please consult prices as they vary according to the size of the groups and the time of the year. Keep in mind that in some areas, booking must be made with a lot of time, as they have a very high occupancy.

BIRDS

One of the biggest photographic attractions is the huge variety of birds that inhabit the region, thanks to the different environments that converge on the farm, Kalahari, forests, 10 km of river, flood zones and water ponds. The list of observable species is very long, including a very broad representation of diurnal and nocturnal raptors.

INSECTS

Generally quite ignored by tourists in Africa, the variety is endless, especially during the wet season (December-April). The "little life" fan can do a multitude of safaris through the grass, the forest, the lights of the houses at night (which reach up to 5 or more species of mantis that prey on an endless number of insects)
